The IRPG App, developed by Twisted Kelp, represents a significant advancement in the 2025 edition of the Incident Response Pocket Guide (IRPG) for wildland firefighters. This fully digital application is designed for offline use and incorporates features aimed at enhancing both safety and efficiency on the fireline.

• Search: For the first time, users can navigate the IRPG with a comprehensive full-text search functionality. This allows quick access to vital information, indexing every page for effortless retrieval of relevant content.
• Bookmarks: The app’s bookmarking feature enables intuitive navigation. Users can easily mark any chapter for rapid reference, eliminating the need for dog-eared pages or extensive searching for specific resources like typing charts or weather tables.
• Notes: A built-in note-taking function permits users to record observations directly within the app. These notes are saved for future reference, negating the need for physical notepads.
• Checklists: The app offers selectable checklists for essential radio communications, including size-up and medical incident reports (8-lines). Users can efficiently check off items during radio transmissions to streamline communication.
• Weather: Leveraging the phone’s GPS capabilities, users can easily send precise latitude and longitude coordinates alongside weather kit measurements via SMS or iMessage to relevant team members.
• Speed: Optimized for rapid access, the app enables users to obtain necessary information with greater efficiency compared to traditional physical copies.
